i have been a whirlwind of travel and experience... i've been in five countries in the past five days: San Francisco, USA... London, UK... Paris, France... Lausanne, Switzerland... Florence, Italy.
in those past five days, i've slept maybe 10 hrs and the last time i ate an actual meal was in the US before i left. in other words, i'm running on the fumes of exhilaration and momentum. i fancy that i don't have a human body and i just run around in action until its exhaustion or starvation finally catches up to my giddy mind.
it's all good!
it has been incredibly, incredibly intense so far. it's unbelievable to me that this is day 4. soooo much has happened. i've just arrived in Florence this morning and i only have a few minutes, here. i want to describe these expreriences for my diary, though, and will have more time for that tomorrow, i expect.
but basically, it's been this: left San Francisco on Thursday morning, got to St Louis for my connecting flight and met a DJ from LA named James whose birthday was 2 weeks after mine and he was off to Europe to see the world like me. on our flight to london, he sat next to me and we chatted and had a blast listening to each others' CDs and stuff. we got to london and decided to just get a hostel together. after we took a nap, we went to the record shops. during a little smoke break, i met a guy in a band called the Slippermen and have plans to see him and his band when i'm in the UK again next month. James and i ended up going to a drum n bass club night called Fabric. a security guard fancied me and had me come up into the DJ booth where i hung out and met DJs and the guy who runs Fabric. that guy was really cool and we talked for hours. we got back to the hostel at 4am. after sleeping a couple hours, i had to go book my train over to Paris. took the eurostar train over (through the Chunnel). got there in the evening, went to that internet cafe, was on that radio show for about an hour (i must write more about all this!!!). met up with the two girls from my school at our hotel. they are eastern european and they'd met a guy from their country... mirela stayed at the hotel and jasmina and the guy and i went out and went to coffee at 1am and walked around paris and saw all the sights in the wee hours of the morning... got back at 4:30am... stayed up talking, got breakfast... then i went to the train station to get my ticket here. walked around paris more and saw more sights. took the train over from paris and stopped in switzerland... got here... and here i am!
